Quick facts about Essaouira الصويرة Morocco
Essaouira is a port city and resort on Morocco’s Atlantic coast. Its medina (old town) is protected by 18th-century seafront ramparts called the Skala de la Kasbah, which were designed by European engineers. Old brass cannons line the walls, and there are ocean views. Strong “Alizée” trade winds make the city’s crescent beach popular for surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. As-salamu alaykum! Read about Victoria and Mohammed
Victoria left New Zealand to explore the world and eventually found herself in Essaouira in 2022, where she met Mohammed at a local hostel. At the time, Mohammed was working as a surf and kite-surfing instructor, and Victoria was teaching yoga. The rest, as they say, is history. She not only fell in love with Morocco, but also with the guy who wore a wetsuit more often than regular clothes!
Fast forward three years, and the two have built a life together in Essaouira. Combining their skills and shared passion for connection and culture, they started by offering surf and yoga packages. Over time, this evolved into what they now offer: multi-day experiences that include sunrise yoga, surf lessons, guided Medina tours, cooking sessions, and much more.
They love working together, meeting new people, and giving guests a genuine insight into what it’s like to grow up and live in Morocco.
Mohammed comes from a close-knit family of six. You’ll meet his mother Najet, father Said, older brother Abdul, and younger brothers Yassine and Noredine. Essaouira Experiences is a true family project, each member plays a part in preparing and delivering your stay, making it a warm and welcoming experience from the inside out.
Whether you’re seeking connection, culture, or a deeper experience of Morocco — this trip is for you.
We can’t wait to welcome you to Essaouira!
We can’t wait to meet you — see you soon!
