About Me – Ruth Mathews Nutrition Coach

I love food, truly. Eating it, cooking it, thinking about it. I grew up in a food-loving family where meals were an expression of love. Over time, I found a way of eating that gives me energy, supports a healthy body, and brings me satisfaction, and I want to help others find that sweet spot too.

I studied biology many years ago and have always been fascinated by how the body works. My journey into nutrition started with a personal desire to fuel my body and mind better, especially as I moved into middle age, and to do so with minimal environmental impact. What began as curiosity turned into a deep passion, and I became a certified nutrition coach. At first, it was just for myself. But soon I realised I wanted to share this knowledge and help others discover a way of eating that’s both joyful and sustainable.

I’ve tried lots of diets and they never work. How is your approach different?

Many diets rely on restrictive eating that’s hard to maintain and may not be nutritionally safe. They might help you lose weight initially, but the results often don’t last. My approach focuses on everyday, realistic eating habits that fit your life, no calorie counting required, and yes, room for treats!

What if my plan doesn’t work?

Follow-up sessions are a chance to assess your progress and adjust your plan if needed. Everyone is different, and part of our work is figuring out what works best for you.
